??th Care of the Mother and Newborn Essential Oils Workshop

Venue: Overtown Farm, Cranham, Gloucestershire, GL4 8HQ

Tutor: Pauhla Whitaker MGEOTA, Dip Ag.

This practical workshop run on an Organic farm in the heart of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds is designed to give anyone with an interest in animal care an overview of the basic skills required to care for both mother and newborn and how essential oils and aromatic waters can be incorporated into that care.
Using sheep as our model, we will learn about the birth process, how to care for the mother and how to ensure the newborn gets the best possible start in life.
The workshop will combine theory, practical demonstrations and development of observational skills and will include wherever possible the opportunity to observe lambs being born and to participate in their care including the chance to try your hand at bottle-feeding a lamb!

Course notes, a sandwich lunch and refreshments are all provided.
As the majority of the day will be spent in and around the farm buildings, you will need to be prepared for all weathers and dress accordingly. Wellies are required and a thick coat, hat and gloves are recommended just in case the weather is cold. For reasons of Health and Safety, this workshop is not suitable for pregnant women or those who are breast-feeding or trying to conceive and you will be required to observe basic hygiene, health and safety and bio-security measures throughout the day.

This unique workshop is only run once a year and places are strictly limited so if you are interested, please book early.

??th July - Remus Memorial Horse Sanctuary - Indulgence Day

This was such a good day last year for therapists, animals and visitors alike that it was decided to hold this annually. It is the opportunity for a wonderful day out. Bring a friend and indulge yourself in some pampering and help the animals at the same time. You will have the opportunity to have taster sessions of holistic therapies from experts in their field. You can tour the sanctuary where you can see their fascinating work and meet their delightful animals. All funds from the day are to go to the sanctuary.
